UniversPhone TM advanced multipoint digital TDMA system is a low cost WRL (Wireless Rural Loop) solution for subscriber requirements in thin route applications covering areas of 40 Km diameter from a single hub station. Up to 4 peripheral hub repeaters can provide 120 Km diameter area of coverage on a low cost basis. This is ideal for rural applications including rough terrain and island typography.

The DRRT compact base station begins as small as a single channel TDMA/TDD wireless trunk with 32 simultaneous time slots available and capacity to serve 256 individual single line subscriber remote stations.

This compact base station can expand up to 4 channels providing service to 1024 subscribers. The system can be expanded in field allowing for an economical rural wireless system installation to begin at less than $2000 per line cost. As a system grows, the economy of scale improves to obtain average costs under $500 per line for wide area rural wireless service.

24 preprogrammed TDD frequency channels are available in a 4MHz operating bandwidth at 1.5GHz which allows for easy field installation and maintenance.

The entire digital network is supported by diagnostic programming, so that maintenance interrogation can be done from the central office.

Each base station software is supported with its own complete billing program so that an independent network and billing system can be maintained at the local rural basis or fed to a central switch for centralized or regional billing control

The subscriber stations are designed for maximum reliability and minimum cost. Subscriber stations with 32Kbps service per line (up to 4 subscribers per remote) permit a digital signal to be processed all the way to and including the telephone instrument. There is an option to have an analog conversion unit at the subscriber site for utilizing fax and other standard telephone sets. This advanced network brings the digital signal straight into the subscriber's premises, so that a low cost digital phone or data device such as computer or signaling equipment can be interfaced directly at 32Kbps.

The subscriber station is designed for very low current consumption and configured in a rugged die-cast weatherproof housing to mount on the antenna mast. Only a 12VDC cable and phone lines feed inside the remote station service location. This configuration allows for a very low cost solar power operation with easy installation and maintenance.

UniversPhone TM E1RT is the state-of-the-art wireless solution for rural telephony. This point-to-multipoint digital TDMA system is ideal for WRL (Wireless Rural Loop) applications, providing high speed wireless voice, fax and data, including wireless internet access from remote areas

Options include 4-wire E&M, G.703 64K data, payphone signaling (12/16KHz SPM and/or polarity reversal), and intracalling among remote users at the same outstation.

The system is available on 400MHz, and optionally 1.4GHz and 2.4GHz

The E1RT system consists of a base station terminal and multiple remote units to extend telecommunication service over a wide geographic area. The base station comes standard in an E1 configuration allowing 28 simultaneous users at 64Kbps each. Base configurations are available as 1+1 hot-standby, as well as 2 x E1 when system traffic requires increased capacity.

The E1RT is a complete solution including optional repeaters with drop capability to allow the wireless network to extend service across the countryside to reach even the most remote locations.

Remote outstation equipment can be configured with as few as 4 lines, or as many as 160 lines at each location to save on overall costs. The base station is available in 3 versions 160, 336 or 512 lines with special configuration allowing for 720 lines if required
